About a week ago I have been thinking about creating a special section on this blog where I can write all of my failures. CV of Failures was popularized by Professor Haushofer from Princeton University (he mentioned that the first idea was coming from Melanie I Stefan from University of Edinburgh). Instead of creating a shiny CV, he decided to create the CV of Failures to make people understand that in the process of becoming a great person, we should learn from mistakes and failures along the way. In a similar manner, my mentor also mentioned about CV of Failures, to make sure we improve ourselves from the past experiences.
I might want to start adding my failures, which will not be in a file but will be in an entire category. If I add more entries, it means that I can learn from them and contemplate in which areas I need to improve. I will try to put even insignificant ones due to lessons I can learn from them.
The idea was coming from the fact that my pitch was rejected by “The Conversation Australia” about a month ago. I thought it was a good idea until the editor asked for my credentials. Even after I explained about things I have written, the pitch did not succeed and the editor was not really convinced that I have the capability or enough knowledge to write that topic. After the failure, I just realized how narrow my knowledge was (and is). There are many things that I have not known and areas I have not yet explored. So, this is a good way to fail since I did not have anything to loose by failing. Lessons learned!
